cd/dvd burning problem

I have a dual layer burner that was burning with nero until the other day nero can't see the drive. windows will burn cd/dvds but all other progrms can't see the drive. programs are nero, cd burner xp, power iso and express burn. If you could possibly help to try and solve this problem. thank you

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DVD drive?

Click:

Start > Right Click My Computer > Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager

And click the + Next to CD/DVD ROM Drives and right click yours and choose Uninstall

Then Click Action > Scan For Hardware Changes and it should be picked up again.

Then click Start > My Computer and see if it appears.

If it is listed in My Computer then you may need to look for a re-scan option in the burning softwares.

I tried that windows sees it but nero and others doesn't
