Default Bly-ray with nero vision?

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question but I really dont know!

If i use nero vision to convert a normal AVI file to bluray disk, will the conversion make the picture better or will it be the same quality picture just able to play on blu-ray players?

Thank you in advance

I would think that it will be the same or worse, the avi format (either divx or xvid is a lossy format) so it will not improve it at all by converting to a high definition format.

I have not had a look at a blue ray burner yet, as I have some big expenses coming up in January. So it has to stay low priority for me at the moment... 8(

Yeah I agree with Arctos. I have always been told and my experience with video, audio editing etc has told me that you rarely get video which is better than the source (original).

Although I haven't seen upscaled DVD's and assuming they look better and that Blu-Ray 'upscales' videos in a similar way, it could improve the video quality.

I guess the only way is to try it out?
