When I burn a dvd, how do I finish it so that I can watch it on my television?

If you detail what procedure you do in burning the DVD, someone might be able to tell you what you are doing wrong.

Also, suggest you provide the following information:
1. Version of Windows you use.
2. DVD software you use.

I am using a new computer with Vista premium. What I am trying to do is send some photos from my computer onto a dvd disc, which I have already done. I can play the disc on the computer or other computers, but what I wish to do is have them play on my tv which I cannot do.
