Smile DVD Burning AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Hello All,

Please could someone help me as I am about to throw the towel in.

I have been trying to burn AVI or mp4 files to DVD and for some reason cannot complete process. Have tried DVDFlick first and it fails at the burn stage.

Then I bought Express Burn Plus, Prism Video Converter and the same thing happened. Downloaded DVDShrink Shrank the avi file first and then bought Nero 8 tried that and again same thing happened. Even used Nero vision and it still failed.

Frustrating because you don't find out that it has failed until 2 hours or so has passed.

Have spent approx £100 on software so far.

Am using Vista on a newish laptop and using DVD-R 4.7GB Disks.

Am I doing something stupid?

Regards

Dave B

Hi davebux - Welcome to PCHF!!

Have you tried setting burn speed at a lower speed - even 2x. Some blank dvd's will not burn correctly at maximum speed.

Hi,

Have still been trying, have even tried at 1x speed but it still aborts at the beginning of the burn process saying "illegal disk" , next step is to buy some different disks, cheers,

DB

OKAY Got it sorted, Illegal Disk in this case meant DVD-R, went and bought some DVD+R disks and it burnt first time,

Knew I was doing something simple wrong.

Cheers,

DB
