The DCOM error-- in post # 5 of this thread-- point's to "Live Update" failing to load.
This is -- I belive-- related to "bits" of Norton Antivirus
still remaining...

Please go to Start/Run... type regedit-- hit enter.
Now we will dig. Carefully.
Under HKey "Local Machine"...

Click on software (the little plus sign) this will expand into a menu.

Look for folders for "Norton" or "Symantec"

If you see any-- right-click and delete the whole folder... Ignore the warning messages.
Do not fear-- I have done this on many PC's.
This will remove all the vestiges of Norton-- which even pieces of can cause conflicts with your current AntiVirus.

Which can cause --guess what?

Weird software and boot/shutdown errors.

Follow the exact same steps under HKey "Current User"

Reboot. Rebooting removes them for good.

Now ...in case there are some tiny bits left...

Download, install and run-- Easycleaner...
Official ToniArts software pages

if you use this on it's default settings you should be able to safely remove all it finds under the Registry button. Very safe app. Hence the name

I looked at those... they all appear to be leftover temp files from installs-- you can "delete all"--
That's why I recommended Easy Cleaner.
It's default settings are quite safe for the less experienced users.

You should run it for "junk files" too... and just delete all.
from the looks of that log--your system is full of unneeded stuff.

Windows is set up to save everything.
Which just eventually bogs your system down-- I run a cleaner once a week... more if I'm surfing a lot.

You are Welcome-- glad it's sorted.

I want to make another suggestion or 2 anyway.

PC's do require some maintenance.

I suggest you use Easy Cleaner -- to keep it running better. Run the temp files cleaner one a week, at least
With the registry-- though EC is very safe... you still need to be a little cautious...basically any file that ends that long string with "temp" is excess.
I would also recommend a Harddrive Defragmentation--
This program gets good reviews-- and it is free, also.

Auslogics - Download Auslogics Disk Defrag

marked as fixed.
