Exclamation Burnt DVD's keep showing as blank

Hi,

I have a Vaio NR-21Z/S laptop.

I have been trying to burn some video files to a blank DVD. I have used Roxio, Windows softwear and Sony's own softwear, and everytime the program say the burn has been sucessful.

But when I put the DVD back into my laptop, the disk show as blank with nothing on it!

I have tried using different brands and type of DVD, but the same thing happens each time.

As a last attempt thing I have just complety restored my laptop the the factory setting (formatted the hard drive and all - lost all my data, etc!), but even this hasn't solved the problem.

The only DVD I have ever burnt before were the Sony recovery disk which were fine.

If anybody knows how to solve this problem I would be very thankful.

Hi --Welcome to PCHF

There's not even an icon showig files are present on the DVD?
The reason I ask is that there must be a compatible DVD decoder program present for them to auto-play-- I think Windows Media Player has an add-on that allows DVD playing... but the point is-- it is not just automatic --no matter what you are using.

I'm not quite sure what you mean?

When I enter the DVD for the 2nd time (after it has been "burnt too/completed"), it's just like the 1st time.

Auto-play starts for a blank DVD - again

If there are properly burnt files on the DVD you should still be able to "see" them as icons in Windows Explorer--

Is this a newer model DVD burner drive? What Model is it ?
There are different 'speeds' of DVD blanks-- many of them actually.
What exact burner are you using... and what Brand + Type of DVD blanks are you burning to ??
