Default [Fixed] Help burning files onto DVD

Im using Blank DVD RWs and I have a DVD RW drive.. what Im trying to do is take random files from my PC and put them on my blank DVD... the windows system seems to only work for writting files to CD as it doesnt pick up the blank DVD I have in Drive and my Nero 7 Premium doesnt give me the option to make a data DVD instead i get copy dvd, and everything else but what I want... any tips? or maybe a free program I can download that would make it easier?

Isn't there a tab in Nero to switch between CD and DVD copying? What happens when you insert a blank DVD...does the AutoPlay box pop up? If it does, what tools are listed in there?

yes theres a tab to switch between CD and DVD but the DVD tab doesnt give me what Im looking for (and if it does its not simplified enough for me to notice it lol) as for autoplay that was disabled a long time ago so it doesnt pop up anymore when i put in a blank cd/dvd and i dont know how to make it come back

To re-enable AutoPlay (if you want to) - go to "My Computer," right-click the drive you want, select "properties," and click on the "auto play" tab. Then use the pull-down menu to select "music files," "music CD," etc, and make sure that each is set to "prompt me each time to choose an action."

..as for your problem...do you use the Nero Express program or the full blown Nero app?

In the meantime, here's a small app that will burn both CD's and DVD's: http://kiaplayer.narod.ru/files/powe....0_exe_ENG.zip

Well I was using full blown nero... with no results then i seen something called "back it up" (on nero as well) so i figured id back the files up to my DVD.... did that then checked the DVD and it didnt have the files instead at had two text files... on telling me the back up name etc etc and some other wierd file..... then i noticed Nero Express.... that indeed did allow me to do what i wanted (ot at least looks liek it) so I put in the CD the stuff got backup too used the Full Erase option on the DVD then tried to transfer teh files I wanted too it and got an error message satying i needd the backup CD or something like that. Im about to try it again with a fresh blank DVD and see what happens
