hi there yes there are some software progams out there i have one called imTOO avi to dvd converter it converts it then burns to dvd disk works fine for me

Yes that is a great peice of software I was so impressed with the ImTOO products I became a dealer for them. I have converted hundreds of AVI files to DVD with that software.
