Hi folks --

First time in here.

My problem is that everytime I attempt to burn a data DVD with my external burner the disc is ejected with the notice "please insert a blank disc." I've checked all the discs I tried and they are all blank.
I've a 3gig machine with XP Home, 512 ram, external I/O Magic DVD burner, and use Nero to burn.

Recently my CD burner went on the fritz and a mate in another forum helped get the DVD recognized by creating a fix.reg file for me. I was cleaning up my desktop the other eve' and thought since the fix.reg file had been implemented that I could just delete the desktop file. That's where the troubles began, again.

I've tried going through all the steps to fix the original problem, to no avail, and cannot get an answer from the original helper.

Anyone? Any help appreciated.

I guess the title should read: Nero thinks blank discs are full. Sheesh.

well, isn't this a helpful place?

By my guess your helper installed that fix.reg file on the desktop.You CANT do things like that.Its like you putting a piece of important papers on the refrigerator and it getting lost and trying to get to where you need to go.You cant.Id suggest putting that file in a Folder you dont delete C:\Documents and Settings\(your username) and replacing the files there.That should fix that problem.
