Try the following;

Go to Device Manager > find your CD R/W drive > right click and uninstall it > re-boot and after Windows has re-discovered it, test.

Unhappy CD R/RW not writing properly

Hey,

I did as you instructed. Removed the CD ROM, a Sony CD-RW CRX230EE. Rebooted and Windows found it and rebuilt the driver. Placed music cd in drive and it open with real player. It said I had some default player but I should install some ASPI drive and the songs may save to the library propery. The song/file showed it was playing but with no sound.

I tried playing and writing with Nero 7, and for the playing it says cannot play this media file. The file is either corrupt or the application does not support the format you are trying to play. I know the file/songs not to be corrupt.

It seems we've taken a step backwards.........Help!!

Hello Thomas,

The following site should explain about the ASPI driver and how to fix it

AfterDawn.com: Guides: Installing a working ASPI layer

Good hunting
