Red face transcode problems

I am converting video files to dvd using winavi but half way through the transcode my system is shuting down.
i have plenty of room on my hard drive but only have 512 of ram.
having said this i have transcoded files before with no problem .
this problem has only occured over the last few daysPLEASE HELP

Welcome to the PCHF decoline.

I've never used Winavi before, but no doubt you've come accross a couple of videos that you don't have the codec for? At least that's how i udnerstand the message.

I'd try converting one of the video files you have previously done as a test to see if it will work.

video codecs are all up to date .
this same problem is also happening on nero vision so i dont thinks its a software problem.
thanks all the same.

having the same problem here but mine just locks the pc up completely
have tried winavi convertxtodvd and nero and all do the same also tried about 10 different files and all do the same thing
