Default Can burn DVD's, but not CD's

Hello,

My burner model is FUJITSU MHU2100AT

It burns CD-R/RW, DVD+- RW and DVD+DL

However, as of late, I can only burn DVD discs, and not CD's, which lock up the burning software. I've tried burning with Nero, CD Burner XP Pro, and Alcohol, all of which can burn DVD's but (now) not CD's

If you have any suggestions I appreciate it!

Thanks,
Jason

hello richard, and welcome to pchf.....when you use nero, how much disk is the program seeing? Try using nero express, less buttons, less to get complicated. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the device from the device manager, then reinstalling it and see what happens.

thanks,

v

No luck....

I tried using Express like you said, as well as reinstalling the burner. The burn process starts, the light comes on and the drive spins, then after a minute or so the drive spins down and the software hangs.

Any other suggestions?

EDIT: By the way, I listed an incorrect Burner model by accident, my burner is a TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L532A

The error message listed by CD Burner XP Pro is:

Writing Error: (3) Error occured writing data to the disc.
The SCSI/ATAPI bus was reset and caused a write failure (1026).
Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 6 ASC: 29 ASCQ: 0

if that helps!

The burner has a maximum speed of 24x

I did drop the speed like you suggested though to 4x, and that seems to have worked. It burns but slowly....so what gives? My burner supports 24x max and the discs are rated at 52x so why does burning faster screw them up?

try bruning them at a higher speed now. Like 12x then keep going up etc..

I only burn video's at 4x as this saves me the bad blocks and such.. But music I burn faster.
