Default does anyone know how to remove a dvd drive from an

hiya, my DVD drive in my lap top has been broken for ages, i would really like to get another one to fit in it,

i can find them on ebay easy enough, but are they compatible ? and how do i get the old one out ?. the sellers dont seem to be interested in either question !.

my lap top is an Acer Aspire 1363 WLMi

any help at all will be very welcome

Hello Timmy,

I looked thru my service manuals and If I may suggest. Changing the DVD is a fairly major undertaking. The laptop will need to be disassembled so unless you are sure of how to reassemble it, I would find a service tech to do it for me. Once you have the drive out is should be simple enough to cross match another replacement drive..

Forgive me. I know you expected better. Maybe one of the great staff of PCHF has more details than I...
