Default [Answered] Cd/Rw not working

My CD/RW has stopped working and i wanted to know if u can help me to find out if it is a hardware or software problem?. When i place any cd into the drive (data or audio) the green light starts to flash like normal but after 10 seconds or so the green light starts flashing really fast and it does not play the cd. I have went to device manager and cd drive properties and the device status says the device is working ok i went through the trouble shooting and still haven got any answers.

Can you plz help me.

hey irish, welcome to pchf.......go to start > run > type eventvwr.msc > enter, that will open up an explorer-like window, click on the apps or system folders on the left, and look for any exclamation points on the right. Where you see exclamation points, double click them, and see if you can find some for atipa, or something related to the optical drive. Whenever you find one that looks like that, click the two pieces of paper to copy it to your clipboard, and then post it back here. If you could post like 5 or 10 of them that would give us a good idea of what is going on.

Ask if you don't understand what I'm saying; half the time I'm unsure myself.

Thanks,

v

Thanks for posting that, that was exactly what I was looking for. Nice job. Few more questions:

what is the cube root of 27?

wait, wrong forum.

Does it still burn cd's?
Does it access data cd's?
Will it play burned music cd's?
Will it play factory cd's?

Hopefully, one of those will be yes.

Thanks,

v
