Nice thinking Big Guy,

She's got a fair number of tracking cookies in there, make sure to run AVG again, and let it fix everything that it finds.

I'll run throught the HJT log when I get back, have to pop out for a couple of hours.

You are first on my list.

Hey BigR,

Your sister has some problems that aren't malware but are certainly leaving her open to it. Please explain to her that p2p software such as Shareza, and Limewire, leave her open to all kinds of malware attacks. She is also not updated to even SP1, you need to get her PC updated immediately.

Also, and this is quite common, her Logitech Desktop Messenger has run amok. She needs to uninstall that and delete the following files

C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LogitechDesktopMessenger.exe
C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe
C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BWPlugProtocol-8876480.dll

Then rerun HJT and remove these entries if they are still there

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LDM] C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LogitechDesktopMessenger .exe
O4 - Global Startup: Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe
O18 - Protocol: offline-8876480 - {48D14366-42B3-411A-AE8B-D84C9561D06E} - C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BWPlugProtocol-8876480.dll
I think that she is amazingly clean considering, the updates will probably end up being the fix for the CD issue. Looking forward to your reply,

ok SP2 installed,

Data disc works fine, but audio discs give me this error when using Media player to convert and burn:
0xC00D11AB: Cannot copy files to recordable disc

Hey BigR,

I assume the other part went smooth?

It may be that WMP isn't equiped to handle what you are trying to burn, give this [ur.=http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-demo.php]Nero trial[/url] a shot, and see if you get different results.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. , and tell your sister she owes you a REALLY GOOD dinner for doing all of this for her, .

Looking forward to your reply,

Hey Big R,

Glad to hear it, can we start a new thread for your CD please? I will be happy to walk it through, but we like to keep issues for different PCs seperate, in order to cause less confusion for the Tech Team as a whole, and for other users who may be looking for information.

I am going to ask that you repost your logs in a new thread in the HijackThis forum, for us to take a look at, and I'm going to mark this one Fixed.

I'll meet you in the forum,
