Default DVD cyclic problems

Hi once again,

I had made a previous thread about my drives getting cyclic redundancy errors while trying to read the last files from dvds. I then thoguht it was a burning problem due to no buffer space on the computer that burned them.

But now I noticed I get problems with almost all my dvds even those I burned on my computer which has lots of buffer space.

The problem occurs when I insert a dvd with anime for example. it has say 24 episodes each 120mb or so.when I try to open one of the last files, explorer stops responding for a while and then selects it. After that if I try to run the file I get a IO: cyclic redundancy error.

Wierd thing is those dvds run perfectly on other pcs and I have bought another dvd drive which seems to have the same problem.
So now I'm wondering if it could be a problem of windows instead of my drives.Or maybe the cables from the drives to the motherboard are bad?
Also when I try to copy those dvd's I get a read error(of course). To burn everything I've used nero express with no wierd settings

I used to get a lot of CRC errors at one stage. I realised I only had a 40 connector ide cable on my dvd burner and dvd rom, so I replaced it with a 80 pin connector. No more errors.

Here's some info that's worth having a look at...

Aha I'll take a look at the IDE cable and maybe change it. Thanks
