Default CD/DVD rewriter not functioning
I have a Systemax laptop computer the rewriter will not function properly. When you place a disk in the unit it spins, but it never gets read. The indicator light comes on for a short time and then goes off. Should I buy a new unit or is there a solution for this problem. If I have to purchase a new unit what units enterchange with a Systemax GREEN 732?

Hi bosephus, welcome to the PC Help Forum.

From the sounds of your problem it is related to the laser in the drive...and not a software related problem.

Unfortunately I odn't know what enterchange is with a Systemax GREEN 732...perhaps one of the other techs.

Sounds like your laser is dirty. I would first reccomend going to Wal-Mart and getting a laser cleaner, the kind with the small brushes on it. You can find it back in the electronics department.
