Exclamation File Burning Issue

Before doing a fresh install of XP, I decided it might be a good idea to download all the necessary programs and stuff that I might need and then burn them onto a CD-R so I can have easy access and install them immediately after to save wondering the net looking for all the files again. I have my vital security software, Service Pack 2, .Net framework update etc etc and my other utilities which I need. I have downloaded and put all of my files into a folder I created on my desktop.

Now when I open up my Burner program to burn them all onto CD, it doesn't display all the files that are contained within the folder. It only shows three or four folders and not the other files with the ".exe" ".txt" ".zip" ".msi" extensions. I'm guessing this is a compatabilty issue with the burner and it not being able to burn these types of files to CD. Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get all these files onto my disk? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there any way I could possibly create an ISO image containing all those files and folders? And so I can somehow gain access to them after burning?

That sounds like a problem with the burning software. It shouldnt care what the file extension is, or at least ive never run accross that before. What burning software are you using?

Well Im trying multiple ones to see if anything works. At the moment I'm using imgburn and powerISO. None are able to burn txt documents, exe's, or zips.

Im not familiar with either one of those, but any program ive ever used, would burn any type of file, except for iso maybe. Have you tried burning anything else lately, do you know your drive/software is working? How are you transfering the files to the burner? You have them all in one folder, when you open that folder do they all show up , and can you open them individually? Maybe instead of copying the folder, open it, click on edit>select all, then send them to the burner and see what happens.
