Default Poor Quality

I'm using AoA dvd copy and I'm having problems with the quality. When I try to burn a copy at 8.7G, it won't work. But when I burn at 4.5 or whatever, the picture is pixelated. I've tried several different programs (Ashampoo, Xcopy, CloneDVD) but I get the same problem with them all. How can I make a crystal clear copy fit on a DVD-R?

Sorry, but no I can't fill that out. I don't know any of that stuff. I'm on Windows XP, I have a crappy Athlon processor, I'm using an external USB DVD burner with AOA DVD Copy. I came here because I payed for this dvd burner and I can't even get it to do what I want. If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it because I'm very frustrated.

OK, there we go. I got my specs up. So can somebody help me with this DVD problem? I just tried it with Nero, to burn a DVD I already ripped with another program. It tells me I have the wrong disc in the drive when i put in a blank DVD-R. it says i need a DVD-R/WR DL. I assume that means double layered? Is that what I need? I'm so lost.
