CD & DVD Burning - [Pending] please insert a blank disc message posted in the Hardware forums; hi how are all you doing,, i hope you can help as i am stumped. my re writer is a NEC DVD RW ND 1300A, ITS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS ...

hi how are all you doing,, i hope you can help as i am stumped.

my re writer is a NEC DVD RW ND 1300A, ITS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS

it can read copied data discs and original dvd's but is CANT read original audio or my burnt dvd disc's.

the message i get when i try to burn or read a disc it dosent like is ,, please insert a rightable disc,, or please insert a blank disc.
someone told me it was my laser that had given up the ghost but i find that hard to believe as it reads some and not others, my hard drive is filling with my home videos and i need to get them burnt,,

i will try all suggestions to try and fix this problem.

i have used different make of discs,, no joy.
i have tried dvd santa,, media player 10, and nero and the drive just tells the same messsage.

please help

Hi there jc honda,
I was wondering if you can try this for me.

Click on my computer. Right click on your dvd drive. Clcik properties. Click the tab that says "recording" and untick the box that says Enable CD recording on this drive. Click apply. The Put the check mark back there and click apply again, and reboot your pc and see if this solves your problem.

thank you for a fast response :-)

i tried what you said and when i try to burn with media player 10 , it tell me on right hand side of the players window 'the cdr drive is in use'

and a seperate window pops up asking me to imsert a blank cdr disk etc

Well then...Pesky CD roms lol.

I know you have done this but have you made sure that you are putting in a blank cd in?

And as I was reading other posts it looks like spybot helps with this issue..

Can be downloaded below.. Run it and see if the problem persist. If so we will have to get medievil on it :tongue:

i have checked the discs yes,

i will try what u said and get back to you,, thankyou for ya time,, and i like the idea of getting medievil with it lol
