Default [Fixed] Help with data disk issue

Hello,
I just bought an IBM Thinkpad 760 XL running windows 2000 professional. It has a 166 mhz pentium w/MMX and 64 MB RAM. It has a swappable CD-ROM drive. I can get commercial disks to read fine in it, but data disks that I have burned on my main computer (athlon 2200 w/windows XP) do not read. The only burned data disks I have gotten to work are ones burned years ago by an older computer. I was wondering if there were some settings I could tweak on my burner program and get data disks I am burning now to read? Thanks for your time. Chad

Welcome to PCHF

Could be something to do with the speed that the data is written at? Try burning a disk at ultra low speed..say 1x or 2x. Additionally it could be that, as this is an old laptop, the Cd rom can't properly read newer CD's..
