Default [Pending] My PC goes black after installing Roxio Easy Media Creator

I'd been trying for a long time, to install Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.0. What happen after the installation is done, is that when I re-boot, my screen goes black. The only solution is to do a recovering and this is very frustrating. My O.S. is XP-2 and I have installed NERO as well, which create some kind of conflict. The problem is, I need both programs because some features that I need, sometime are not available in a especific program, so I have to combine both but since I bought the Roxio software, I wasn't been able to use it.

Could someone there know about this problem and how I can overcome it? I would appreciate any clue or advice. Thanks a lot in advance,
robherhk

As you say it sounds like there is a conflict between the two programs.

The best option would be to remove both programs and run a Registry cleaner http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...RSS,RSS,00.asp

Once you have done this restart your machine, install Roxio software first and restart when finished.
Then install your Nero software and install when finished.

If the software asks you to create virtual drives or anything just say no.

Let us know if this helps

Received via email...

Thanks a lot for your advise. I tried that before and when installing Nero, they ask me to uninstall Roxio. I'll try again to see if it work. Also, I want to ask you if Registry Mechanic can be of the same effect as the other program you suggested, because I have Registry Mechanic. I bought it a few months ago. Again, thank you for your unconditional support.

Registry Mechanic should work just as well (maybe even better).
We just need to make sure that once you have un-installed the programs that everything is cleared out of the registry.
