Default Power button does not work on computer case

I just did a switch from one case to another. The new case I had to use mobo spacers to seperate the mobo from the tray, installed mobo, all cables, everything...

Reset button works, HDD LED works, Power LED works... Darn Power switch does NOT work.

What would be the cause of this?

I've checked and rechecked all cables and wires.

I'm using a K7SOM+ 7.5A ECS mobo and a Cooler Master Elite 330 case.

The wires on the old case have a connector for the POWER SWITCH that has 3 holes in it to connect. The new case POWER SWITCH button only has 2. The 3 holed one only uses 2 wires though, same location as if it was the 2 hole connector.

hole meaning the lil black plastic connector.

I'm stumped. Entire PC works fine, except the USB 2.0 plug that connects to the front of the case. But that's another issue for later.

I would try taking the front off the case and checking that power button isn't loose or broken. Otherwise try connecting the power_SW cable the other way around.

Yes, I tried that.

You may be right in that the switch is simply broken.

I know it clicks and pops in and out.

Hmm, LOL.

If the case is new - you should be able to take it back to where you bought it and get a new one. I don't think you should have any problems. You can also contact Cooler Master directly - but I'm pretty sure they'll tell you to return it.

Now I guess your going to have pull everything out again and put it back in old case until you get a new one, lol.
