This is my first post on this site so hello to everyone. I’m looking for some help with a USB 2.0 card I just had installed. I have a HP/ Compaq Presario PC that runs on Windows XP. The machine originally came with 7USB slots, 3 up front and 4 in back. Now the original UPS PCL card had to be replaced because of a thunder storm and I had the 4 in the back replaced. It was installed and the PC guy showed me that it worked fine by use a pen driver. The problem is that if I try to use any device that requires software installation through a CD (like a printer or digital camera), it won’t work. It’ll give me drive won’t open, connection out established, attempt to open drive failed…etc. I don’t have any problem with things that auto program (pen drivers, speakers ...etc.)

The card installed was a Mercury USB 2.0 PCL Card produced by Manhattan Co. Can someone please help me? Please remember I’m not very computer savvy, hell let’s be honest. I’m a dumb *** when it comes to computers. But I feel this my be something a can resolve with a little help and I don’t want to pay 50 or so dollars to a PC shop if it’s something I can do myself.

Do you have the installation disc that came with the new Pci card?

Yes D, I do have the disc.

Cool, try re-installing the drivers on the disc
