Hello eyeC,

You will need to find out the exact make and model of your motherboard. This is normally written on the motherboard, or you can download SIW: SIW Download

Once you have the make and model of the motherboard, you can go to the manufacturers web site and download your BIOS update from there. Updating your BIOS can be risky, is there any particular reason why you need to update your BIOS?

You graphics card drivers can be downloaded from here: NVIDIA Drivers

I don't think a BIOS update would help you with that one. Restarting is normally caused by bad device drivers, faulty RAM or overheating.

If your getting a blue screen of death when your PC restarts, can you take a look at Blue Screens of Death's on my signature. This will tell you how to post a dump / log file here, so that we can analyse what is happening with your PC. If your not getting any Blue Screens of Death's, can you go tell me what other errors are appearing in Event Viewer (Start, Run, type eventvwr).

Hey eyeC, don't worry, I'm sure you won't need to throw your PC away.

It's definately either RAM or bad device driver. Ruled out overheating. Any chance you could post one or two more?

Thanks for that eyeC. Definately showing memory corruption in all of these, looks like you have a faulty stick of RAM or two!

To be absolutely certain, download memtest, which will check your memory for errors (Memtest86 - Download Page)

If you have a floppy drive and a spare floppy disk (easiest method) download: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest33.zip - extract and run install.bat

If you have a cd-writer, a spare cd and Nero installed, download: http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.3.iso.zip and burn the image memtest.iso.

Reboot the PC and start your PC with the floppy/cd inserted and let memtest do it's work. Any errors along the way will be highlighted in red.

Once you have confirmed that you have faulty memory, it will be time to look for new, they are easy enough to replace, so I will talk you through it if you need to.

It completely depends on your BIOS. If your BIOS supports USB Bootable devices, it will work... otherwise... it won't!

Another solution (if only 1 stick of memory is bad, and you have more than 1 stick), is to remove all your RAM, and testing out 1 stick at a time to see if you have problems. Open up the cover of your PC (some have screws at the back, some newer PC's like the dell have a levar to open). Locate your memory slots:

You will see two white clips holding the RAM in place. Push the two clips away from each other and the RAM should lift up. Hold the RAM by it's edges to remove (try not to touch any of it's components). Leave one it at a time until your problems return.
