Cool hot motherboard

hi have just changed my bits into a kandalf extreme Motherboard
a8r32mvp deluxe
fx60
2 x 1950 512mb crossfired
3 hd in a cooler bay
2 x 1gb ballistix ram
1 kw galaxy Power Supply Unit... which is so big i cant fit the top fan on case ..no room..
am running at auto overclock with Motherboard at present which works although i started having failures ocing after case change.
wanted to help with cooling etc.
at the same time i changed stock heatsink with an asus silent square pro.
now i have a weird thing goin on...
my cpu is running at about 40 degrees which is good..but my Motherboard is as well....
and i live ein wales so the temps outside are 11 degrees average..
is this a prob..
just think this maybe a bit hot for Motherboard...

Howdy BornSlppy,

Those Motherboard temps are fine.. My cpu temp is @full load 47c, and my Motherboard temps run around @full load 50c..

How many fans do you have in your case? I have (Antec 900) 5 120mm fans and one 200mm fan..

Have alook here as well. But your temps are fine..

http://www.pchelpforum.com/tutorials...e-cooling.html

The bottom line is to have more fans exausting air than intaking air.. Maybe mess around with some of your fans thats all..

And I would not AI overclock.. Do it in small increments on youre own..And you will yield higher results..

hi mate got 2 fans at rear a 120mm and a 90mm 2x90mm at front and a monster one on my Power Supply Unit at top, got air holes in top where i'm supposed to put other fan but it'll not fit due to a large Power Supply Unit.
am glad about temps that was a concern.. 1 prob maybe for Motherboard is the cpu fan is that big its restricting airflow a bit..
as for oc'ing i was running at 2912 i think which was stable b4 the case change, but this wasn't working after the change..weird..so resorted to the auto version...
am awaiting new sata cables and ide cables just in case i damaged any on the transfer..don't know if this maybe the source of prob..
i did get sporadic non boots due to a boot loader issue a bit since change...may have been a tad heavy handed...

The SATA cables will do fine.. I know about the Monster 1kw Power Supply Unit's.. Going to get the PC&PC 1kw or tagen on my next build..
\
As for the temps when they start geting around 55 c then you should worry but 40 is just fine

Remeber your CPU has a big ol fan on it. Your motherboard does not.. So your Motherboard will have a little higher temp than the cpu!

was running 208 cpu and x14 multiplier
and 104 on pcie
which worked kinda ok
also set ram to 216 as anything higher resulted in no boots.
strange cos i got ballistix ram ddr 500
does the multiplier have an effect on ram?

yes it does..

In my case ( I have an AMD 4200+x2 overclocked @ 2.9 ghz..thats a 700mghz oc on air)

I have my multi to 11 (most AMD's are best @ 11)

You have to go slow as well. It took me a week to get to where it is stable runnning 24/7

Like your FSB 200, Go to 203 do some torture tests..then go up to 207 repaet..then 215.. then 220...then 223... then 228 ..Then make the jump to 240 (might have to up the vocore)

How many stick of ram do you have? Are all your ram slots full?

Here is my cpu scores on the pitstop..
Test Results Summary

You should be able to get to 3ghz easy...If you have the money get yourself one of these.. It may look cheap but thats what I use and it cools great!!!
