The computer won't just turn on. When i press the
power button nothing happens. no sounds of the fans or anything. i
checked the wire connections inside and out and everything seemed ok. i know the PSU is ok because i can see a little light through the power buttonand I also the light on the motherboard lithten up. so i figured out there is nothing wrong w/ my psu. my computer model is emachine t2885.

Welcome to PCHF eagle_eye!

The first thing I want you to check for is, on the back of some power supplys there is a switch, make sure the switch is set on the on mode. Flip it back and forth and keep hitting the power button while slowly hitting the switch. If that doesn't work, plug the computer straight into the wall (many people use multi ports), also, you may want to try another outlet. Next, try using the power cable you are using for your monitor and see if that works. Be abslutely certain you are hitting the correct button, and try hitting every button possible on your computer. If that doesn't work then your next best bet is to try another power supply. A friends power supply, maybe even the power supply on the computer you used to type this message (As long as it isn't a laptop). If all of these things do not work then you likely have some form of hardware failure. Good luck!
