Exclamation Asus Problems

I'm building a computer for a friend of mine and I purchesed the Asus Vintage PE-1 barebones case. Now I also put in 1 gig of RAM and a new P4 into the system.
The problems began after I wanted to start to get an OS onto the HDD.
I started up the system and I get a BIOS warning saying "Overclocking has failed" and seconds later the computer shuts down. I tryed to restart the system but it immediatly shuts down again.
If I leave it alone for 30 sec. or so it'll go to the BIOS check and says the same thing. I took out the COMS battery to reset the BIOS. But that didnt work either. It reset the BIOS but the computer then shut down. I dont know if this is a power supply problem or something w/ the MB or BIOS. I tried Asus's forum for help and found someone w/ a similar problem but no one replied. So I'm trying here! Help please!

Hey Lotus,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wicked staff of techs here, and some amazing hardware gurus. I am sure that we can help you get this thing up and running.

For the Hardware gurus, the Asus's specs, Vintage PE1

A couple of questions,
Did you actually overclock the PC?
Have you tried flashing the BIOS back to original?

Other than what you listed, have you installed anything else?

What are you using to boot with?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
