This is just a quick question. i am thinking about buying a new case as at the moment i have an old beige case from a P3. I have a gigabyte 7VTXE that has USB 1.1. The problem i have is that if i buy a new case it is likely that it will have front usb2.0 which is wired differently and now comes a 1plug. Is it possible to rewire the USB2 conector so that it fits in the 1.1 and still works properly?

I'm afraid CyFanate is right, it probably won't be possible to use the USB2.0 connector on the 1.1.

after about an hour browsing the internet the other day i managed to find a way to connect the USB 2.0 header to the USB 1.1. All it requires is some simple rewiring.

This site has a how to guide that shows the wiring for USB and with some common sense it can easily be modified so USB 2 wired can work on USB 1.1. It shows that the usb header will work on any Intel mobo but not on Gigabyte and what each colour/wire does
This simple mod actually works and now i have managed to install front USB on my computer that works YAY.
