Default MG416 problem solved

Hi,

I have solved my same problem with this kind of case from Delux, I hope my explanations will be clear enought.

Here what I have discovered:
- the display has a circuit the connects the battery or the power supply. Because this circuit is broken, the curent from the battery is flowing into the power supply and it is lost.
- if you connect the battery to the red and black wires that came from the power supply the display will not loose it's settings enymore.

So, the solution is to connect the battery to the red and black wires that came from the power supply, using two diodes.

DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY DIRECTLY TO THE POWER SUPPLY FOR A LONG TIME. IT CAN EXPLODE. You can do it temporarly (not more that 10 minutes). The reason is that this model of battery should not be recharged.

I have atached these pictures with the old and new connection for the display.
ORIGINAL WIRES CONNECTION - ImageShack - Hosting :: mg416originalconfigel8.jpg
NEW WIRES CONNECTION WITH DIODES - ImageShack - Hosting :: mg416newconfignr9.jpg

The diodes have to support at least 5V ,preferably simple diodes not zenner. If zenner, take ones that open after 5V.

Hope I was useful,
Marius.

Welcome to the PCHF Ciprian.

Have you tried changing the battery as suggested earlier in this thread?

Thank you for wolcoming me.
The batery is fine..i check it using a multimeter.I also tried the solution of marius but the fan speed is still beeing forgotton. .I am a little disapointed..I was hoping the lcd circuitry will also automativly speed up the fans when the tempecerature alarm sounds.

To be honest I've never even seen the case you're using

And the circuitry on the case will most likely be very limited in that it's more of a gimic then of any real use.
