Default BSOD Issue

Hey I have a new question. I also am getting the Blue Screen of Death with the ialmdev5.dll listed when I try to create a family in Sims 3. I am running it on a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family.

I googled this issue and have seen several suggestions that this is a driver problem. So i naturally reinstalled the driver from the Dell website, but even with the newest one as soon as I try to create a family it blue screens. I went to the intel site and tried to reinstall the driver from that site since the Dell is 6.14.10.4609 and the intel site says there is a 6.14.10.4764. Then because Dell is awesome I got this message:
"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit"

So now I am out of ideas. I have hard drive room, I have defragged, tried selective startup with no extra programs running, normal start up and reinstalled the Sims 3. I have turned all the graphics settings on Sims 3 to the lowest settings. I would love to try the Intel driver but unless someone can let me know how to get pass the manufacture problem. Please any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Climber,

This problem occurs with the older version of the driver, and it can also occur in hardware. In your case, I'm certain it's hardware, as this PC doesn't quite meet the minimum requirements for SIMS 3:
