Default BSOD/continual restart after XP loads files

So I had to take my computer over a friends house today and after I got there, the computer would turn on, give me the "windows did not start properly the last time" deal, and when I click "start windows with last good configuration" it begins to load into XP and after it loads everything (usually when my login screen comes up) it blue screens for a fraction of a second and then restarts to start the same process over again.

I checked all of my connections and everything is right. Do you think that somehow my hard drive got screwed up because of handling the case and moving it around?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

hi crittbeast

could you try booting up in safe mode ?

re : touching and moving : touching the outside should not cause any problems but regarding moving it if it has been bumped about it could cause damage to your hdd , it could also dislodge something even though it looks or feels secure ,
you could try unplugging everything in turn and reseating it again ie cables , pci cards , memory etc etc

I made sure all of the plugs are in properly and I did try to boot in safe mode but after it goes through checking all of the files for before starting Windows, it just restarts.

I am on another HDD now, took the time to install Windows on it, and it works fine.

Any tips on how to recover the data I may have had on the other drive?
