This is good, I thought this was always a possibility.

The timings now at 8-5-5-15 (would have expected 5-5-5-15 though), would be running without EPP, at the nominal voltage you mentioned 1.8v would be normal.

However, running with the EPP profile (dual profiles @ 4-4-4-12) you would require a higher voltage, up to but not exceeding 2.2v. EPP will need more power, and your probably still stuck on the default 1.8v.

You should notice that the problem returns as soon as you run with 2 memory sticks as well.

Manual settings then for voltage, with all sticks installed. Every BIOS is different of course, the M3N memory configuration settings are quite extensive from what I remember, but you should see these settings under Advanced > Jumper Free Configuration in BIOS. See if you can see your memory voltage here (currently set to Auto). Set it to 1.95v or 2v, run a memtest, and gradually increase it each time until memtest shows no errors after 7 passes. Maximum is 2.2v, but without active cooling, I wouldn't recommend exceeding 2.1v. BIOS will most likely warn you soon after you exceed 2v as well.

I will make the voltage change.

Also I didn't receive any errors while I was doing the stick-by-stick test and the pair test. Now on this last test I mentioned as I was posting last, it completed showing an error, and that was with all four modules back in.

I started the next memtest with the newly configured parameters, and it's still showing it at 8-5-5-15, when I set it at 5-5-5-15 in the bios

I started with 2.0v and added .04v each test and now at 2.12 and each time, I got more and more errors with the increase of voltage.

Hi GD, sorry for the delay,

No if your running 5-5-5-15, then you'll be running without EPP, to it's probably having the same effect when your giving it too much voltage. When it's 5-5-5-15, voltage should be 1.8v. When running EEP (4-4-4-12), voltage should be higher to handle the extra stress. So, with all 4 sticks installed, timings are now showing 5-5-5-15? If so, is it stable at 1.8v?

Actually, Monkey, you can go ahead and close this out, due to me doing a full wipe and install of the new os. I also got new memory as well, needed an upgrade regardless Thank you very much for the help and info

...hehe, if you want you can transfer your attention to the new problem thread I started.
