Default Laptop '' Blue screen of death"

Hello about 2 years ago I bought a laptop DELL M1210 XPS Off of costco (huge mistake it doesn't even come with restore symatic lol) and It was running fine the first year till about last summer it started having over heating problems so I just went and got a little fan and just kept it on the side of the computer for the past year and half and it worked fine then I bought a 24inch moniter for the laptop and been using it for the past months and ever since a few weeks before I got that moniter my laptop has been having alot of problems when ever i play World of warcraft my FPS would be terrible like raging 9-15 (used to be 30-45) and when ever i play any games for a good amount of time this blue screen would pop up saying memory storage dump or something and that the Hardware is malfunctioned

So i was wondering what is the best thing to do?

another question, if i buy a new graphics card is it possible to install it in the laptop.

Graphics card im using now: NIVIDIA Gefore go 7400

And also does the more larger moniter have effect on the gameplay too or on the graphics card?

Honestly i regret buying this laptop but didn't know much about graphics cards back then and didn't think i would be into high end gaming. =[

So I just made the blue screen pop up again and it didn't go in the minidump folder but

instead of it being a memory problem it says on the blue screen

Hardware has halted

"call hardware distributor for assistance"

Hardware has halted

and thats about it.

Hi Xeozlol, welcome to PCHF.

Do you have any previous logs in the c:\windows\minidump folder we might be able to use? If you do get any more, please be sure to post them, as they can often point directly to your problems. Make sure you follow the "Troubleshooting" section at the end of the BSOD's link Jay2 provided, to make sure that these settings are correct. There are an infinite number of things that can cause a blue screen, from virus's, driver issues, software as well as hardware issues. We can investigate without the logs, but may take some time.

As for your other question, you can't actually replace the NIVIDIA Gefore Go 7400 graphics chipset you have in your laptop at the moment. The problem with laptops is that much of your internal components are integrated, apart from things like memory, hdd etc. You can however buy things like express cards or external caddy's/cases which can hold PCI-E graphics cards, which can only be used with external monitors.

What types of game are you trying to play? Is the laptop still under warranty?

Yeah i followed the troubleshooter thing and followed all the instructions still no go =[

Uhm just CS1.6 , World of warcraft, Warcraft 3 , Team Fortress 2, Half Life2
But it just seems to always crash on World of warcraft, for the first person games it usually takes a few hours before it does.

No the laptop isn't under warranty
I'll post the computer specs if that can help also

Possibly overheating from your description, if it's usually a few hours, it would make sense.

Download Speedfan: Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures before you play the game, and also an hour or so after playing?
