Well, you do have an external monitor attached to that PC now. I'm assuming you have extended the desktop onto the second monitor? That's only going to put more stress on the GPU, and this really isn't a laptop meant for serious gamers to start with. If overheating is the problem here, it's certainly not healthy.

Yeah its on a moniter (22inches)
Also for the over heating could it possibly be from the processor fan being dusty/dirty? ohh so its a bad idea to have the moniter w/ the laptop like it is? |

We still don't know if overheating is an issue here, as you would still need to configure Speedfan properly, but yeah, dust would certainly contribute if that was the case.
This is only laptop. One of the common problems with laptops is trying to fit so much technology into a small space. This means that airflow is a common problem.. getting the heat out of the system. Manufacturers have a hard time designing laptops that keep the temperatures down during stress. If you have one monitor, then the GPU must draw that information onto the screen. If you set that monitor to a higher resolution, then the GPU has more to draw. If you have two screens, then the GPU must draw twice as much. |

The most effective and only way to make it run as fast as it did when you first bought it would be a clean installation of your OS using your setup or recovery CD's.
Otherwise, our Performance Guide might help: http://www.pchelpforum.com/2009/05/0...on-guide-blog/

Sadly for some reason my laptop didn't come with a restore program
would reinstalling windows make it run faster once again? |
