Hi Xeoz,

Can you give me exact temperatures? Speedfan can be quite generic when it comes to what it considers overheating.

Hi Xeozlol, these were the temps whilst idle or after playing for an hour?

If it's after playing for an hour, then you can rule out overheating, as these temps are actually very cool. Maximum temperature of your CPU (Core 2 Duo T5600) is 100°c, and the NVidia chipset I don't have an exact max temperature for, but the NVidia's are generally around 100°c too. HDD temperatures should ideally be below 40°c I believe. This is not a maximum threshold, but the risk of HDD failure doubles above this temperature.

If these were idle temperatures, then they are borderline high.

Hi Xeoz,

Speedfan has a logging facility, if you go to Configure, followed by the Log tab, you can enable logging from here (make sure you add a header). Then, go to the Temperatures tab, select each item, and tick the Logged checkbox at the bottom. Whilst Speedfan is open, it will save the log file (SFLog2009####.csv) to the the Speedfan folder (c:\program files\speedfan). Leave Speedfan open whilst playing a game for as long as possible. Close Speedfan and then check the log. I suspect these temps are not far off 100°c.

Hi Xeo,

You haven't selected anything from the Temperatures tab. Go back to Configure > Temperatures, click on each one individually, and then make sure Logged is ticked at the bottom.
