Post BSOD - ntkrnlpa.exe causing BSOD?

I read my own Minidumps, usually, and I can usually successfully solve the problem by this. However, I'm pretty stumped this time. My Minidumps say the BSODs (which only happen when my laptop goes into sleep mode, as when I close the lid or leave it unused for a while) are caused by ntkrnlpa.exe.

I have attached my Minidumps. Any suggestions?

Hi Rodents, is there any chance you could detach any external devices, especially USB devices, maybe an iPod, and see if you still have the same problem?

My only external device that I ever attach is the laptop's power cable. Because this isn't the PC listed in "My PC," I thought I should let you know that this is a Dell Studio 15 laptop with the 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 video card upgrade option and I believe a Core 2 Duo T5800.

ahhh, sorry Rodents, I don't know why I didn't see this first time. It's looks like either an Intel Nic or Intel Wireless Card. Updating the drivers for this may do the trick. Basically, Windows is not able to verify the power state of the card before it enters sleep mode.

Updated to most recent drivers for my wireless card, verified them by DriverAgent. I didn't go into sleep mode for a while, but today I once again logged back in from a "locked" computer and got the "Unexpected Shutdown" warning. The Minidump from today is attached.

Thanks for the heads-up on the driver update, though. My connection is getting better speeds with the new driver (still not GOOD, because our ISP is screwing us over, giving us way less than we pay for and refusing to admit it).

Hi Rod,

The same driver is appearing in those logs. It could mean that it could not restore power to the card after returning from standby. You could test this by leaving the card on. To do this go to Device Manager, right click on your card and go to Properties. Under the Power Management tab, untick:
- Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Will try. Thanks. If that's the case is there any fix other than having it shipped out?
