Okay, here we go. I've put up with my pc giving me seemingly random Blue Screens of Death's for the last few months, and eventually had enough, backed up, formatted, and reinstalled.
Everything ran smoothly, for about 2 weeks, and now my little friend is back.
I've checked everything again, but I still can't figure it out. I'm no guru though, so here, please help me..
AuthenticAMD_-_x86_Family_15_Model_12 2002~Mhz

GeForce FX 5600XT

80 GB Sata
Error Signature:

BCP4 : 00000000 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1
Attached is the mini-dump.
Additional Information:
I'm using slightly older nvidia drivers by choice, the latest updates were giving problems with card (GeForce FX 5600XT).
AVG 8.0 is installed. Virus definitions up to date. Came up clean.
Had the amvo virus previous to the format (it was one of the reasons for the format). Cleaned it, and all USB devices. Haven't found a trace of it since.

Hello bhelliom, welcome to PCHF.
Is there any chance you could post one or two more of those logs. I'm fairly confident I know what your problem is, but would like to double check by comparing the results with another log or two.

![]() Okay after some research, I found these: Annoyances.org - Question about 'Top reasons for random, fatal crashes in Windows XP and Windows 2000' (Windows XP Discussion Forum) You may receive an error message on a Windows-based computer: "STOP 0x00000050" or "STOP 0x0000008e" Clusty Search » 1000008e BCP1 This seems like no easy task. Many think it is a Geforce FX card prob; many seem to have this problem while playing BattleField, Micro$oft thinks it is a hidden virus, most have a slightly older AMD processor, many think it is a driver issue with the video FX cards, alot think it is a memory issue .... some even relate it to a heat issue (I worked on an AMD machine recently with a video card that was placed too close to the modem card and as thus busted; or leaked capacitors that caused random failure...I just happened to have a new in the box Nvidia 6500 that solved the issue) Check out all three above links I have provided and post back & let me know what youv'e uncovered.

And one possible addition to my last post is that that SATA 80GB drive might be causing the problem
