Default BSOD - Bad Pool Caller BSOD

I am trying to repair a Toshiba laptop that gets a bad pool caller stop message. When using the WinXP boot disk, it wll not repair or recover going instead to the same BSOD. I have gotten the NTFS4DOS boot CD from bootdisk.com and can access the C drive, but I cannot copy all the drivers from windowns\system32\drivers. What I realy need are the files from My Documents offloaded and then I can fdisk, format and reinstall, but there is no floppy drive to copy to. Is there anyway to be able to do this or am I reduced to losing everything? I have been working at this for days with no success. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a desktop computer? If you do, you can copy your files to it and do want you have to do.

Hi Poz,

Welcome to PCHF!

The 'Bad Pool Caller' BSOD could be caused by either bad drivers or bad hardware - usually USB connected. If you want to solve the problem without having to reinstall, you could try replacing your drivers and see if it stops the error. Alternatively, disconnect and USB connections you have, and see if you can boot up then. If you're adamant that you want to reinstall however, do you have a re-writer on your laptop? You can back your documents up to disk, and use restore when you have XP installed again.

Hope this helps.
