Default Some AV components cannot be enabled

After a Windows crash that wouldnt load (not in safe mode, either last good config.) I upgraded from CD. Everyting seems now to work fine except the AV (Kaspersky) which says: Some components cannot be enabled. That happens
becos klif.sys file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers is stopped.
Any idea why/what to do?

Hello Lucy, Welcome back to the forum!

I think you should try uninstalling Kaspersky, then clean your registry and then reinstall Kaspersky again.

There is a free registry cleaning tool in Ccleaner, which you can grab from the link in my profile

Give it a try, if it doesn't help I will open your thread to gain a techs opinion for you!

Regards,

Smokeycheech

waaa it didnt work, I uninstalled/cleaned/reinstalled.
I get again the warning message "some components cannot be enabled" - for some errors saying "driver not found" and for others "unexpected error".
Why cant that klif.sys file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers be read or whatever (somewhere was saying is stopped). How can I make that driver working?
erm.. I wonder, is that klif file only for Kaspersky?

LucyFair,

Since you have a valid subscription, do you have the ability to reinstall?

At the moment Im using the trial version of Kaspersky 2010 which I downloaded from their site and got trial activation code for 30 days and yea, I did reinstall it but, as I said, I keep getting that warning message "your computer is at risk/some components could not be enabled" which shouldnt be there if everything would be ok. Looking to find out what is wrong I found that klif.sys file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers is the reason.
Why that driver is not ok, I have no clue. Im kinda noob in tech issues so please be patient with me

Perhaps some components are not available in the trial version? I'm not a Kaspersky user but, I'll do some research in the meantime
