every time i try to run anti virus it shuts down. it says i am not the administrator. also my searches get redirected and i tried to run the rootrepeal and it shut down in the middle of the scan. now it wont let me open the program. i know i have a virus but dont know how to fix it. please help me.

i wont be back online till 10pm tomorrow night so if someone could help me then that would be great..........

Two thoughts MrLoveLife,

You could try to run the AV/antimalware tools in Safe Mode with Networking (accessed by pressing F8 after reboot). That will retain your Internet connection and permit you to post the logs once they are obtained.

or

You might try copying and renaming the EXE for the AV/antimalware tools to xxx.exe. Why COPY and RENAME and not just rename only? Many times, the AV or antimalware tool will require a reboot to complete the clean-up. Upon reboot, the tool will look to start itself to finish its work. It won't be able to do that if the original file name isn't there.
