Hi there,
I have a file that I found from an unknown source. While it looks promising, there was virus reports from online scanners.
How do I go about scanning for viruses myself? How do I find if those viruses are false positives?
Thank you

It is just a fix file (exe) for a game. It came in a rar. It's now on my desktop.
I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but does it matter? Thank you |

It's on my desktop. (More specifically, D:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\)
The filename is Game-Fix.exe |

Spetre,
From here we have a few options: First, let's see if the file itself is virused via VirusTotal Please visit Virustotal

Hi,
I previously tried both of those. The file is 35mb, and unable to be scanned through those. And as well, my question is unanswered. I want to scan files manually, rather than through online virus scanners. (e.g. using a program to look inside the file itself) Thank you for your help |
