Spectre,

That was my next plan of attack.

Please download and run Malwarebytes as follows.
  • Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here:
Download Malwarebytes

Once it installs please navigate to D:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\Game-Fix.exe

Then right click on it and choose Scan With Malwarebytes Anti Malware

The scan shouldn't take very long at all since it is only one file.

You will be able to access any other scanning programs via this right click context menu and scan with them as well

Ok, perhaps I'm being misunderstood.

I don't want to use a virus scanner. I want to open the .exe with some sort of program (hex editting or something), and look inside the coding for a virus.

I want to do this to ensure that I'm not getting false positives from these scanners.

Spectre,

Hmm. That changes things. As far as I know, this isn't possible. But, I will do some research.

As far as the file being virused, if it is coming up as such I wouldn't doubt those results.

alot of times if you've installed an a/v program, you can right-click on the file and select "scan"

or something to that effect

idunno.. is that what you had in mind? how else would you "manually" scan a file??

Spectre,

Might I ask, what did you do to resolve this?

so... the file is too big to submit to free online a/v scanning services

but you want to open it in a txt editor and inspect a 3.5M file by yourself to find the traces of a virus

???
