Personally, I use Avast AV. It's registration is free. I also manually scan with hijackthis, ccleaner, and Malwarebytes anti-malware. I use firefox as a browser. From personal experience, internet explorer is just too weak when it comes to resisting browser attacks. Thats just me though.
