Hi all,

I just upgraded from AVG 7.5 free to 8.0 free. With the old version of AVG free I had no trouble using Spybot S&D as well, but now there's a wrench in the works. AVG 8.0 free isn't letting me update Spybot S&D immunizations.

Spybot's "help" mentions that can happen, but doesn't explain how to solve the problem.

AVG 8.0 free's "help" doesn't even warn users the program may prevent them from making full use of other security programs. So, without even a warning, definitely no troubleshooting info.

Can any of you tell me how to update Spybot immunizations now that I'm running AVG 8.0 free edition for antivirus? I like Spybot -- I don't want to stop using it just because AVG apparently wants me to.

AVG have actually just updated to ver. 8.5. Please can you upgrade to that version: AVG Free - Download installation files & documentation and see if the problem persists.

Hi Hengis! I did as you suggested -- unfortunately, I've got the same problem with AVG 8.5 Free. Still can't update Spybot S&D immunizations...

try going to www.filehippo.com and downloading AntiVir Personal (freewear) I have this on one of my computers with Spybot and have not had no trouble what so every with virus and spywear. I also have on my laptop McAfee Total Protection 2009 (have to buy) and have no trouble (i do not have spybot on my laptop). try one of the virus protection and let me know what happens.

That's certainly something that Molly can consider if she wants to replace AVG, thanks Chester
