McAfee freeze/white screen
hey guys im having trouble with my mcaffe as it keeps freezing on a white screen (pic below)
 this keep happening i have tried to scan many times but this happens, there is no updates needed as it auto updates and just updated today. if anyone knows what i could do whould be great help. p.s im not sure how to remove viruses if they are found from mcaffe there just querteened. many thanks, lewis. |

Hey blitz. Welcome to PCHF!
 I'm not familiar with McAfee, so I'm not entirely sure any application-specific problems that would cause this. However, it does sound like you may need a repair installation of McAfee. Also, the scanner will only quarantine files that it cannot clean. For example, I once had an infected file that couldn't be healed because it was in a ZIP archive and needed to be uncompressed before healing could take place. I'm sure there are other situations that would have the same result. I've marked your thread as [Open] so a Tech can come in and make a more thorough assessment. Rodents210 |

i whould usually try re-installing my mcaffe but when i had bought my computer i had it installed on there in the first place and didnt get a disk. |

Hey there Blitz I would uninstall Macafee and download and update this:AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com
Macafee is just a issue in its self. JB.

Hello Blitz.
Jelly Bean couldn't put it any better. Best thing you could ever do for yourself is use the McAfee removal tool and install AVG or Avira AntiVir PE. You'll end up with a lot less bloat, a faster machine and far less problems.
