Which of these or both

Hi folks,

I currently have Spyware Doctor and Avast antivirus on my computer, Just recently whenever spy doc is running a scan my pc runs really slow and keeps hanging. I think there may be some sort of virus or something on my pc although neither of these programs have detected anything.

1) Does anyone know what program they would use if I was take it in to a store for virus removal???????????????

2) What is your opinion on my current installed programs???????????????

Hi Simful
I would use AVG Free Edition.

Put "free" into the search bar. AVG is an award winning Anti Virus and doesn't use too much CPU Time or RAM.

About your current programs, Avast has a good detection rate its in the top 10 of detection for virus's, so I do not think you have a Virus. I would remove spyware doctor and get Windows Defender. from Microsoft.

I too use AVG free, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, but I cannot comment on Spyware Doctor as I've never used it

I agree with the AVG 8 and Spybot they are what I use.
