Default McAfee Virus Software
I've read in this forum that McAfee virus software is not very good, I just wanted to know if any of the free anti-virus programs that you can get (avg being the one in particular that I am aware of) are better than the full version of McAfee.

Hello,I would much prefere AVG 8 to Macafee any day.

I certainly wouldn't say that McAfee AV "is not very good", however it can be very resource-hungry on slower PCs.

AVF Free is simply that...Free! It does a great job in detecting and cleaning up and I personally have had no security issues on my PC in many years - all I use is AVG and Windows Defender (Windows Vista).

Thanks for the suggestions.

Would you say that AVG is a better anti-virus program, or just that it is less resource-sapping and free?
