Hi, first post. AVG. My problem is that when I try to fire up the AVG this is what I get and I can't start the darn thing. [XP SP4 ]

C:\Program files\AVG\avg8\AVGul.exe.
This Application has failed to start because the application conffiguration is incorrect, has any one have a fix for this?

Hi and welcome to PCHF

First thing I would try is to uninstall AVG then run CCleaner from HERE
Run the Registry Clean option a few times til it stops finding files then download a fresh copy of AVG

Did you recently upgrade from AVG 7.5 -- by chance ?

There are complaints of conflicts between AVG 8 and remnants of AVG 7.5 left by the uninstaller.
