On my parent's PC is Trend Micro PC-Cillin Anti-virus, it came free for a yr after they bought the PC, my dad paid for it when it expired, which I didn't agree with as I figure AVG would have been better and free. My question is, how good is PC-Cillin and would he have been better off with AVG instead? I know PC-Cillin is made by the makers of HiJackThis but that's not too much to base it's performance off

It's really a case of free versus paid. If you can afford it and you believe that the Trend Micro is a better product than AVG then by all means buy it...if not, stick with the excellent AVG FREE.

Ive found that the new version of AVG 8.0 slows my system down, so i now have Clamwin

I love AVG and use it on my PC, PC-Cillin is on my parent's, I'm just wondering how good of an Antivirus program it is

My girlfriend used to have it on her PC and to be fair i think it was pretty useless, i`d go for AVG free, I use it on all 4 PCs in the house and the only slowdown i have noticed is if you have the link scanner enabled it takes a fraction of a second longer to load a web page
